Let's get to know Soror White!

When and where did you become a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated?

I joined Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated on June 4, 2018, in the Eta Mu Zeta of Tacoma, WA

Why did you choose Zeta?

I choose Zeta because of my best friend. She demonstrated the principles of Zeta daily. She was also my volunteer partner, and I watched her working with Zeta Phi Beta, Incorporated out in the community.

Where did you go to school? What is your major?

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Science: Health Service Management. I graduated from Troy University with a Master of Science: Health Service Administration & Human Resource Management.

Who was the International President when you were initiated? Dr. Mary Breaux Wright

What is your profession?

I am an Active Duty Soldier in the United States Army. My profession is in the medical field, I started in the Army as a Medical Laboratory Specialist, and my current professional technical title is Chief Clinical NCO / Sergeant Major. I am preparing to transition out of the Army after 30 years of service.

What is a fond Zeta Memory?

A fond memory was celebrating Centennial Founder’s Day at the Zeta Plot, on Howard Campus with Sorors from around the world. Sisterhood was truly displayed during this event. We sang, held hands, hugged, and enjoyed the moment together like sisters who have known each other forever.

What are some of your Hobbies and Interest?

One of the things that I enjoy doing is volunteering because it allows me to make a difference and to develop on my existing skills and sometimes to build new skills. I love traveling with friends, so we can experience new things and create memories. Lastly, exercising because it just makes me feel better and allows me to eat a few snacks here and there.

What Positions have you held in Zeta on any level?

Washington State Nominating Committee Chair, and Parliamentarian of Eta Mu Zeta Chapter

Please share a quote, passage, or bible verse that resonates with you.

“To whom much is given, much will be required” Luke 12:28

What Zeta Principle do you most relate to and why?

Service is the principle I most relate to. I believe that in order to lead, you have to be able to serve. I also believe that in order to make our world a better place, we must have a heart of service and be willing to serve those that are in need and just to lend a helping hand.
