Week 5 Soror Spotlight #2: Soror Nakeyva Oliver

Our Soror Spotlight For Week 5 is Soror Nakeyva Oliver. Soror Oliver has a long history with the Eta Mu Zeta Chapter. Her Aunt Gilda Oliver, is a Charter Member of the chapter, and her Mother N. Ann Oliver was one of the chapter's early initiates.

Let's get to know Soror Oliver!


When and where did you become a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated?

I became a Zeta at Jarvis Christian College in Hawkins, Texas in the Zeta Delta Chapter on April 1, 2007


Why did you choose Zeta?

I have been surrounded and guided by members of Zeta my entire life. Zeta is home meaning that Zeta is my safe space where I know I will be encouraged, loved, and corrected!

Where did you go to school? What is your major?

I graduated from Jarvis Christian College with a Major in Early Childhood Education.

Who was the International President when you were initiated? Barbara C. Moore


What is your profession?

I am a Substitute Teacher, and I tutor children when I am not Substituting.


What is a fond Zeta Memory?

Walking in to my first chapter meeting on the Graduate level not knowing anyone and I was embraced with love from Sorors.

What are some of your Hobbies and Interest?

Reading, spending quality time with family, friends, and my Blue/White family.


What Positions have you held in Zeta on any level?

I have served as the chapter secretary, chapter 1st Vice President, chapter President, Washington State secretary, and a member of Myrtle & Viola Tyler National Legacy Club Committee.

What Zeta Principle do you most relate to and why?

Sisterhood because I cherish the bond, I have with my Sorors. knowing that we support each other through everything life throws at us the good, bad, and ugly.
